about

This is a live recording from our first ever gig back in 2021! A beautiful relic...

A little ballad about an encounter with a friend and a policeman at a local wild swimming spot.

lyrics

As I walked out, one summers morn
Down by the waterside
With my high vis jacket right tidy
And my hound all by my side

Im here to do the good old work
Of keeping ducks in line
Protector of this private pond
Oh how my badge will shine

And it's there I've spied a naked one
Lone swimming in the mane
Come out I cried, you lawbreaker
Come out and hide your shame

Do not cross me, the creature cried
For I am no maiden fair
I am in fact no human beast
I am your worst nightmare

The creature stood suspended there
And did not even turn
But their gaze it hunted t’ward his eyes
And their stare began to burn

And the very first step all that they took,
It shook him to the core
As water dripped from the creatures thighs
His eyes cast to the floor

And the very next step all that they took
They did it with a grin
They touched themselves quite brazenly
And his blood began to thin

The final step this creature took
So slowly to their towel
The hound she felt the scales tip
And she began to howl

The hound she chased her master
back to his chequered van
Then hound and creature slipped into
Where peaty waters ran

So beware, beware you tender boys
Who shake the hand of law
You could be hacked/snared by your own shame
All by the water shore
